Hill-Kitt Hall Council Minutes

10-07-2007

  • Attending:

    • Adrian Swanson (President), Anna Sannes (Vice President), Erin Kelly (Council Recorder), Kim Spitzfaden (Senator), Mike Potter (Advisor), Jeska Fields (Staff Advisor), Bryan Haimes (Treasurer), and Corridor/Floor Representatives: Suzi Johnson, Erin Armstrong, Hannah Adamson, Alan Richardson Hohn (He's new yay!), and a prosbie named Ethan

  • Lateface:

  • Absent:

    • Lisa York, Mara Fink

  • Call to Order at 10:03

    • We introduce ourselves to Ethan (and each other because we don't remember each other's names anymore)

    • Hannah's Birthday was yesterday, Potter's PO boxmate's is today, his cake had lots of frosting

    • Fancy Paper is Awesome

  • Executive Reports:

    • Secretary's Report

      • We can't get into the blog yet, I'm working on it.

    • Senate Report:

      • This is coming out week, there are lots of Diversity events

      • The Senate wants non senators to come to senate meetings, Tuesdays at 6:30

    • Treasurer's Report

      • Budget forthcoming

      • We approve 25-50 for the capture the flag event in September

  • New Business

    • Haunted Trail

      • Adrian didn't put up posters because his word free trial expired.

      • Anna talked to Ellingson and their Haunted house is the 26th

      • We vote to to have the Haunted Trail on the 27th from 8-10 (so as not to conflict with Rocky Horror)

        • Erin (me, I think) and Bryan may not be able to come

      • The Comittee Sign Up sheet is up

        • Lisa is not here, so no report from the Haunted trail committee

          • Jeska goes to kind Lisa

        • Potter to email dorm about committee sign ups

      • JC's having a costume contest instead of hosting cookies

        • We can still do cookies on our own

        • We decide to host cookies

        • Bryan is in charge of refreshment

          • Erin (no clue which one) and Bryan to look into Bon Appetit

    • Constitution

      • Not everyone made it on the alias in time and we will discuss it on October 21

    • Halloween Trick-or-Treat Promotion

      • local kids come to Trick-or-Treat at dorm rooms. Sheets and signups will be at the front desk later.

      • Trick-or-Treat happens from 4:30-6pm on Halloween

      • Kids still Trick-or-Treat on Halloween

      • Anna to make a sign

      • Potter will email the dorm

    • Hallwear

      • Next meeting

      • Think of Ideas

      • Idea contest for free hallwear

    • Appreciation Days

      • 1 or 3 per year, the next is November 7, we thank the Custodians. $25+ per person, usually to a nice restaurant.

        • We discuss getting one of the custodians an iTunes gift card, since she likes music, but decide not to on account of her perhaps not having an iPod

        • Restaurant ideas

          • Tavern (we picked this one)

          • Hogan Brothers

          • Applebees

      • Bryan will pick up GC when he goes to work, $20 per custodians

      • Anna will make a Thank You sign, Erin A and Bryan to help

        • Adrian explains that he or Bryan can get the Hall credit card, which gives a tax break, and comes directly from our budget

        • We can buy things ourselves and be reimbursed, but we have to pay the tax ourselves, or else fill out complicated forms to avoid it

  • Adjourn 10:30

    • The Bears are driving, but the Packers are leading (Bears eventually win, 20-20)

    • What about the Yankees??? They win (boo) over the Clevland Indians 8-4, but are knocked out of the series the next day.
